Psychological Assessments for Immigration
I understand that immigration processes are extremely stressful. My goal is that the evaulation is not only useful for your case, but also an opportunity for you to express your feelings in a safe environment, and receive information and resources for healing.
Types of evaluations
Esperanza Mental Health Services offers psychological evaluations for cases including, but not limited to:
1) U-Visas,
2) T-Visas,
3) Provisional (i.e., hardship) waivers,
4) Cancellation of removal petitions,
5) Violence against women act (VAWA) requests,
6) Political asylum requests, and
7) Expedited petition requests
The process
Assessments generally consist of an individual (i.e., one-on-one) interview with the client; reviewing any legal documents (e.g. affidavits or police reports); and if necessary, meeting with the client's family members. Results from the measures are interpreted and written into a report. The report is then sent to the individual and/or their attorney.
